No, do not adjust your teevee set and no, this is not Groundhog Day. I was back on Boathouse Row for another engagement session and this time it was Kristen and Rob who are getting married this fall at the beautiful Hotel DuPont.
We already started discussing our plans for the wedding day and I’m getting charged up for this one!
Squeezed in a very fun and successful engagement session with Rebecca and Dan before some nasty thunderstorms are due to arrive. We headed down to Winterthur which is the penultimate location for photos.
What awesome, storybook light! Rebecca and Dan will be getting hitched at the Greenville Country Club next June.
Kristin and Rob are huge Phillies fans so for their engagement session, I really had to knock it out of the park, especially the day after Roy Halladay pitched a perfect game. So we headed over to the Piazza at Schmidts where the Phillies were playing on the jumbotron.
They’re both so playful and it’s not hard for Rob to make Kristin laugh so shooting them was a breeze.

I’ve shot many, many engagement sessions but not until this week did I get a chance to star in one of my own. Cathy, me and Linette Kielinski, the best second-shooter a photog could ever have, went out to West Chester for some shots on the nicest day of the year.
Would you believe it? A Scrabble set with no ‘V.’ Time for a workaround!

We had the best weather we could ever hope for (at least in this part of the world) for Litty’s and Charles’ engagement session at Winterthur today. Litty wore an incredible black saree and together her and Charles made a knockout couple!
I have a really good feeling that they’re going to give me some killer photos on their wedding day in October! Gotta check back and see!
We should all be so lucky as Deborah and Pat. Even though they’re young, they’ve known each other for a long time because they literally lived around the corner from each other.
We headed down to The Philadelphia Waterworks in Fairmount Park.
Boathouse Row is crazy almost every day of the year. Deb and Pat mix it up with the regular skaters who meet there.
Deborah has been watching Tyra Banks on a regular basis getting ready to make her entrance at the swanky Hotel DuPont next summer.
Ok, now off the beaten path. I like to find little nooks and crannies around the city that no one else seems to be using. I found just the thing with these fountains on Drexel University’s campus.
They claim not to have taken dance lessons but they’re not fooling anyone!
I wish Deborah and Pat all the best and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next June. I’m lucky to be part of their storybook romance.
As I was on my way to the Fairmount section of the city to meet up with Sarah and Matt, all I could imagine was how the oppressive heat was going to suck all the fun out of the day. But from the very first minute, my fears vanished and we had an awesome time from the get-go!
Well, almost. The very first thing that happened to us was we got thrown out of Eastern State Penitentiary for taking pictures. Imagine that! Being thrown OUT of prison!
Ok, so maybe the key to a successful engagement session is drinkies at Jack’s Firehouse.
Sarah and Matt were great. They did whatever I told them to do no matter how kooky. And sometimes I really get on a roll!
Ahh, great light everywhere! Actually, as I write this, thunderstorms are rolling in so we made out like bandits as far as the weather goes.
Ok, as if all those great photos and the great sunlight weren’t enough, Matt tells me that he owns Scoop Deville, an ice cream and candy shop in Center City. How cool is that!
All I seem to notice is what the sun is doing when I shoot. But Matt’s got his eye on something else.
I couldn’t have asked for a better day or a better couple. And I can’t wait to photograph them again at their wedding in October at Sofitel!
